NEW CD, NEW WEBSITE, AND UPCOMING SHOWS

In case you haven't noticed, we have a new CD! It's an EP called We Are The Mystery Tramps, and it includes six songs and a bonus remix. We had a great time recording the tracks at Cybersound Studios in Boston. We worked with our good friend and ace engineer, Jeremy Page, who also mixed the entire record, and, along with Perry Geyer (Manufacture), produced the remix version of "Actors." You can buy the CD directly on our website, where you can also listen to two tracks.

Speaking of our website, today marks the official launch of our brand new site. We hope you like the new design. It has been simplified quite a bit, and we plan to add new features from time to time, and also to do a better job of keeping it fresh and up to date. Yes, we know the photo gallery has been gathering dust, and we do plan on updating it soon. Meanwhile, it will serve as a trip down memory lane. Special thanks to Brian Harris and Josh Melvin, who helped with the site design and construction.

Of course, you can't plan on spending all of your time sitting at home listening to The Mystery Tramps and poring through the voluminous content on our website. You need to get out every now and then and catch some live music. We've got a few suggestions. Why not start by coming out to our show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston this Sunday night, August 17th at 7:00 PM? It's an all ages show, and Any Other Word is opening. On Sunday, September 14th we will be at T.T. The Bear's Place in Cambridge, MA. This will be our first time playing T.T.'s, and we are very excited about it. It's an 18+ show, and we go on at 10:15 PM. The Tramps return to the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge for an all ages show at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 4th. This should be a great show, as we are playing with a great band from Australia called Gigantic, as well as our good friends, Zephyr. Look for more show announcements soon, including another great Dodge Street show, as well as a return to Precinct in Somerville.

Last but not least, The Mystery Tramps are featured in today's edition of the Boston Herald. Pick it up if you get a chance. Big thanks to Jed Gottlieb for coming out to hang with us at rehearsal and for the kind words.

That's it for now. Hope to see you all soon.

Love,
The Tramps

CONGRATULATIONS, ERIC!

We are very proud to announce that our favorite vocalist, songwriter, rhythm guitarist, and freakazoid, Eric Grava, has been accepted to Berklee College of Music!! Congratulations from everyone in The Mystery Tramps, and on behalf of our extended family and all of our friends! Way to go Eric!!

ONE MUG SHY

We have received many calls and messages from our friends asking about Martin, and we want to let everyone know that his operation was a complete success. He is getting stronger and better every day, and he will be back on stage with the Tramps before you know it! From what we've heard, his new bionic arm is far more versatile than the old one, and he can now do some things he's never been able to do before! Hurry back, Martin! We miss you!

Meanwhile, we have put together a scaled down, acoustic version of our set, and we're taking it to the stage in a series of performances in December and January. The show is called One Mug Shy: The Mystery Tramps Unplugged, and it features some rearranged Tramps songs, a few cool covers, and even a holiday song or two. Some of the dates are already posted on the website and on our MySpace, and more will be announced very soon.

We have also been busy in the studio; Andrew has been playing some dates with Paddy Saul; Eric is getting ready to audition for Berklee; and Adam will be taking the stage with James Montgomery and DMC (from Run-DMC) at Kowloon in Saugus, MA this Thursday night (12/13).

Lastly, in case you haven't noticed, we have some new merch for sale on our MySpace through Zazzle. You should be aware that any of the items pictured are just examples, and all of the designs can be placed on scores of different shirt styles, colors, and sizes. It's really very cool. We're always running out of the colors and sizes that our friends are asking for, so we hope this will help solve that problem.

We hope you can come out to one of our upcoming acoustic shows. We'll be back out doing our usual full-band thing in February at a venue near you, so please stay tuned.

That's it for now.

Big hugs,
The Mystery Tramps

WHERE HAVE ALL THE GOOD TIMES GONE?!

It's been an amazing Summer for The Mystery Tramps! We've been writing a lot of new songs, and we're starting to work them into our live shows. Anyone who showed up at our impromptu performance at O'Brien's Pub in Lynn last month got to hear a whole set of new material.

August was an awesome month for the Tramps. All four of us attended different sessions at the Berklee College of Music Summer Program, and we all had a ton of fun, learned a lot, and met some great new friends. We also returned to New York City in August, where we played at the famous Bitter End in Greenwich Village. But nothing could compare to the fun we had on 8/25, opening for The Aquabats at the Avalon in Boston. Thanks to all our friends who made it out to the show. It was a blast to play that room, and to do it with one of our favorite bands made it even more special. One of the coolest things was joining The Aquabats and MC Lars on stage for the all-star Pool Party finale. We even got to drag some of our friends up there with us! Well, even though we're back in school, we've still got some great stuff to look forward to. In September, we have two all ages shows in the area. On Saturday, September 15th, we'll be at the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge, MA for a matinee with Who Shot Hollywood from Western MA. Doors are at 1 PM. Then on Friday, September 21st, we'll be at The Center for Arts in Natick (MA) at 7:30 PM with Goosepimp Orchestra, The Beat Junkies, and Nocturnal Sunshine. We hope you can make it out to one or both of these shows.

If you like internet radio and podcasts, check out Breakthru Radio. There's a really cool show called All Access that features tracks from teenage bands and artists from all over the world. The Mystery Tramps have been featured on this show lately. Just click the link above and then click on "All Access". Special thanks to DJ Lottie, who does a great job hosting the show, for finding us and including our music in the mix.

On October 19th, look for the release of the movie Fat Girls (Regent Films). "You're So Alone" from our album, Cure For The Common Misconception, will be featured in this film. We are very excited about this!

Stay tuned for more show announcements and other news real soon.

All the best,
The Mystery Tramps

WE WON!

The Mystery Tramps are very proud to announce that we were selected as the winner of the 13th Annual WBCN/Berklee College of Music Battle of the High School Bands this past Saturday at Harpers Ferry in Allston, MA. Starting out with thirty-two bands from throughout greater Boston and beyond, the field was narrowed down to six diversely styled bands for the competition's final round. Judges for the day included Ben Case and Shelley Booth from Berklee College; Patti Jones, a local entertainment attorney; music producer Jeff Hall; and WBCN DJ, Bradley Jay. Not only did the Tramps win the top prize (which included studio time, musical instruments and accessories, gift certificates, and more), but each member of the band was awarded a scholarship to the Berklee College Summer Program, an honor which we are most proud to have received.

If you haven't already picked up our new CD, Cure For The Common Misconception, we hope you will consider doing so soon. We've been getting some great feedback from folks who have heard the album. The best news is that this past week, it was number 8 on the list of the Boston Phoenix Top 10 Local CDs. The Tramps also had another nice mention in this week's Phoenix. Check it out here. We hope all of our friends in the New York area will come down to see us at our show at The Knitting Factory on April 17th. We have some cool shows and events scheduled for May and June as well. We'll be playing live on the air on WBCN (104.1 FM in Boston) on Sunday, May 20th, on the Boston Emissions show at 10 PM. On May 25th, we will be headlining the Paradise Lounge at an 18+ show, along with two really great bands, Señor Happy and Tunnels To Holland. In June we have two shows lined up with some legendary Boston bands. On June 2nd, we'll be in Newport, RI, at the Newport Blues Café opening for The Neighborhoods, one of the greatest punk bands to ever emerge from the Boston music scene, on a bill that also includes The Rudds, a world-class band with Boston roots. And on June 16th, we will be appearing at Sky Bar in Somerville, MA with Prime Movers, The Lyres, The Boize, and Lady Kensington and the Beatlords. This one is a 21+ show. We also have several all ages shows on our schedule, so don't feel left out. You can see the complete itinerary by clicking on "shows" above, or by visting our MySpace.

Thanks to all our friends who have been commenting and leaving us messages on our MySpace, sending us emails, coming to our shows, and buying our CDs. We'd especially like to thank Shred at WBCN and Billy Costa at Kiss 108 for supporting the band, playing our music, and spreading the word about The Mystery Tramps.

Cheers,
The Tramps

IT'S FINALLY HERE!

We are so excited about our upcoming CD Release show at the Middle East Upstairs this Saturday afternoon that we decided we'd keep the celebration going into the night!

In addition to our all ages show at 1 PM with our good friends Say When, The Mystery Tramps have added an 18+ show that very same night! This show is also at the Middle East Upstairs, and doors are at 9 PM. We will be opening for The Figgs, a really great garage rock band, and we're thrilled to be playing with them. It should be an amazing day of music, so please try to join us for all or part of it.

Our new CD, Cure For The Common Misconception, will, of course, be on sale at the show, and if you're really anxious, you can pick it up at Newbury Comics as of Friday, March 9th.

We are also very happy to tell you that the record is already getting airplay on both WBCN (Boston Emissions), and WFNX (New England Product). Both of these great radio shows feature the music of local artists, and if you've never listened to them, you should check them both out on Sunday nights at 10 PM. While you're at it, we would be most appreciative if you would call these stations and ask to hear The Mystery Tramps! The phone numbers are:

  • WBCN: 617-931-1041
  • WFNX: 781-595-9369

The Mystery Tramps also got a very nice article on Jim Sullivan's website. Jim is a freelance music critic who writes for the Boston Phoenix, the Christian Science Monitor, and other publications. You can find a lot of really cool articles about the Boston music and arts scene on his website www.JimSullivanInk.com. Check it out.

We've got some other great events and shows in the works so stay tuned to our website for more details. And look for the launch of our brand new site in the very near future.

Also, for a limited time, if you log on to our MySpace you can download our single, "You're So Alone" for free.

Hope to see you all soon.

Peace,
The Tramps

TIME FLIES!

Wow! It's already been more than six months since our last update. We’ve clearly lost track of time. Things have been happening so fast and we’ve been so busy that no one remembered to update the website! We have a lot to fill you in on…

Some notable accomplishments of the past six months:

  • Our Paradise Lounge and Middle East Downstairs debuts. These are a couple of the most well known and historic clubs in the Boston area, and it's been a great honor to play at them.
  • We have received features in both The Noise and Performer Magazine, two of the top rock magazines in the region. Also, we were featured in the Boston Globe "Sidekick" section, and we had a small piece in th Boston Phoenix.
  • We have released our first single, "You're So Alone," from our upcoming album. The track has already hit the airwaves on both WFNX and WBCN. Please give a call in to these radio stations to request the song.
  • The completion of our new album Cure for the Common Misconception. Produced by Stephen George, the disc features a guest performance by Jamie Arentzen, the guitarist from American Hi-Fi. It should be released in early March.
  • New T-shirts!!! They’re available at all our shows.

That’s basically what we’ve been up to. Our plans for the next month include shows in Turners Falls, MA on Jan 20; Somerville, MA on Jan 28; and Plaistow, NH on Feb 9.

So, our apologies once again for neglecting to update the site. If you want more information faster, as well as show reminders, we encourage you to join the email list by filling out the form on our Myspace. While you're there, feel free to message us or leave a comment. We always like to hear from our friends.

Much love,
The Mystery Tramps

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

On Saturday night, May 13th, The Mystery Tramps had an unforgettable experience. We were fortunate enough to have been a part of Music for Middlesex IV, a benefit concert for MHSA, Inc., a charitable organization that offers financial, educational, and remedial assistance to homeless, drug and alcohol dependant, and otherwise indigent members of the community through a variety of programs. We are proud not only to have done our small part to aid and promote this worthy cause, but also to be included in the same breath with the many great musicians associated with this event.

We met some great people at the show. Everyone on the production crew was really cool and they all did an amazing job. The house sound, the stage sound, and the lights and special effects were second to none. The Chevalier Theatre, where the concert was held, is a beautiful, old facility, built before World War II and now fully restored. It seats over 2,000 people, and the art deco interior has great curved walls that give the room excellent sound.

The Mystery Tramps would especially like to thank Joanne Codi, who works tirelessly and selflessly each year to make this event happen, for making our involvement possible. Thanks also, to the great James Montgomery, who invited Adam to join him and his band on stage for a rousing rendition of the Junior Wells classic SweetSixteen that featured an awesome guitar solo by Adam, earning him a standing ovation from the crowd.

We have posted some photos of our performance at M4M4 in the Photo Gallery. Check it out!

There are a bunch of shows coming up, and more to be added soon. We hope you can all come out to see us!

Peace,
-The Tramps

5/8/06

It's been a very busy month for The Mystery Tramps. We all had a great time playing at Harpers Ferry in the WBCN/Berklee College of Music Battle of the High School Bands. Not only did the Tramps advance to the final round, but Adam and Andrew were each awarded full scholarships to the Berklee Summer Program. Many thanks to everyone who made the event possible, especially the folks at WBCN, Berklee College of Music, Harpers Ferry, and a special nod to event coordinators Alan Rotberg and Diane Young, and to all the great bands we had a chance to meet and share the stage.

We had a blast this past weekend in the Big Apple! We spent a couple of days in New York City, where we played a show on Saturday night at the Knitting Factory in Lower Manhattan. It was an awesome time, and many thanks to all our friends who showed up to catch our set. A big thanks also to our friends Say When, who invited us to join them on the bill and proceeded to seriously rock the house! And a shout out to September Twilight, who also put on an amazing show. The Knitting Factory is such a great place to play, and we all apreciate the fact that this legendary club always supports younger musicians and fans by making all of their shows open to all-ages.

The Mystery Tramps are honored to be among the featured performers at this year's Music for Middlesex concert. Music for Middlesex IV is an annual fundraiser that benefits the Middlesex Human Services Agency, Inc. and its charitable endeavors. This year's event will be held at the Chevalier Theatre in Medford, MA on Saturday, May 13th at 7:00 PM. The Mystery Tramps will open the night, followed by New England, Missing Persons, James Montgomery and Friends, The Fools, Charlie Farren, Danny Klein, and others. The show will be capped off with an all-star jam featuring James Montgomery on hamonica, Danny Klein of The J. Geils Band on bass, Sib Hashian from the band Boston on drums, and our own Adam Amoroso on guitar! Should be a great night of music and a ton of fun, so come out, party with the Tramps, and support a worthy cause at the same time.

Also, we have another show at the Middle East Upstairs in Cambridge coming up on Sunday, May 21st. It's an all-ages matinee with Gerard Mellen, SallyBoy, and Twists. Doors at 1 PM, and the show starts at 2 PM.

Stay tuned to the website for complete show information and for further details about our new album, which we plan to release in early Summer.

Thanks again to all our friends for all the love and support.

See you soon!

FINALS WEEK

The Mystery Tramps have advanced to the final round of the 12th Annual WBCN/Berklee College of Music Battle of the High School Bands, and we would all love it if every one of our friends could come to the show! The final field of seven take the stage this Saturday, April 15th, at Harpers Ferry in Allston, from 1-5 PM. If you would like to attend this show and you need a ride, drop us an email, and we will provide your transportation. We have adult supervised rides leaving from Lynnfield Centre, starting at noon. Get in touch with us today! Let's show Boston that Lynnfield rocks like no other town in Massachusetts! Turn out and make some noise for the Tramps!!

Speaking of which, there was a nice review of our show at The Middle East in this month's issue of The Noise, a Boston fanzine that has been covering the scene for twenty-five years. Many thanks to Zack Starikov for the kind words and to T Max for his never ending support of the Boston music community. Hey, thanks to all who came out to see us at Dodge Street. We had a blast there, as always, and it was a treat to have A Fistful Of Dynamite on hand to kick things off. Thanks also to the nice folks at Grace Chapel in Lexington, where we played last night as part of the Battle of the Bands there. We all had a great time, and we made some new friends.

We're off to NYC on Saturday, May 6th, to do a show at the Knitting Factory with two other great Boston bands, Say When and September Twilight. We are very excited about playing at this venue, and we invite all of our friends in the New York area to come in to the city, catch the show, and hang out with the Tramps.

That's all for now.

See you at The Finals,
The Tramps

SO GOES THE BATTLE

Hey, everybody! We are very proud to announce that The Mystery Tramps have been invited to perform in the 12th Annual WBCN/Berklee College of Music Battle of the High School Bands! This year's shows will take place at Harpers Ferry in Allston, over a four-week period beginning on March 11th, and ending on April 1st. Eight bands will play each week, with one band advancing each week, as well as one wild-card band. These five bands will then face off for one final showdown on April 15th. All of the shows are Saturday afternoon all-ages matinees. It should be a ton of fun, with some great bands from cities and towns all around the Boston area and other parts of Massachusetts, coming together in one room to make some noise and to make Harpers Ferry the place to be. We hope you will come down and support the Tramps on Saturday, March 25th. Doors open at 12:30, and the show starts at 1:00 PM.

Speaking of fun, we all had a blast last week at The Middle East, and we thank all of our friends who turned out to catch the show. Among them was our friend C.D. Di Guardia from Northeast Performer Magazine, who not only reviewed the show for the mag, but also brought with him a stack of copies of the March issue, which includes a Spotlight feature of yours truly, The Mystery Tramps! You can also view the story online on the Performer Magazine website.

Things have been progressing very well with our new album. We have all been working long hours rehearsing the new material with our producer, Stephen George, and we can't wait to begin recording the songs. We are going into the studio this coming weekend to begin tracking, and we are very excited. The recording is taking place in Lunenburg, MA, at a place called Powerhouse Studio. It is a great facility, sort of remotely isolated, so as to keep us focused on the task at hand. We hope to have all the tracks recorded by the end of March, and Stevo will spend the better part of April mixing. If all goes well, the record should be released in early June.

So, there are some cool shows coming up. Don't forget Dodge Street on April 2nd, and we are playing in another Battle in Lexington. Nothing like the one against the Redcoats, but revolutionary, nonetheless. Five weeks, with one band playing each week, and three advancing to the final night in June. Our night is April 7th. We have never played in Lexington, so we're looking forward to making some new friends, and we hope our friends from Winchester and other surrounding towns will make it out to see the Tramps. Last, but not least, for our good friends in Lynnfield: stay tuned for news about another Hometown Throwdown. Details will be announced soon.

Peace,
The Tramps

RADIO AND PRESS

What's up?! The Mystery Tramps have been laying low lately, rehearsing and doing pre-production for our new full-length album, which we plan on releasing in June. We are working with a great producer named Stephen George, who has engineered and mixed records for everyone from Buddy Guy to Michael Jackson.

We will soon be returning to the stage and picking up where we left off. Our first show will be on Sunday, February 26th at the MIDDLE EAST UPSTAIRS in Cambridge. This is an all ages event, and we hope that all of our friends will make the trip into town to catch the Tramps at this matinee performance. We are playing with three other very cool bands: MILE 21, who are one of the great ska/reggae bands on the scene and many of you know very well; VILLAINS COME FIRST (formerly NOISY MONSTER CAGE), who put on an amazing live show; and, last but not least, CLASS CLOWN, an awesome band from Burlington, Vermont, who have opened for Yellowcard, My Chemical Romance, Reel Big Fish, and others.

Even though we have not been playing any shows lately, The Mystery Tramps have still been making some noise. We were featured today on Kiss 108 FM, on the Top 30 Countdown, by host Billy Costa. He said some really nice things about the band, and he even played an edited version of Passed Out. Thanks a lot, Billy!! We all appreciate the help and support.

Our EP was recently reviewed by Performer Magazine, and the reviewer, C.D. Di Guardia, recently teamed up with the Tramps at our favorite hangout, Wendy's! There, he interviewed and photographed the band for an article which is scheduled to appear in the March issue of Performer. Look for it at your local Guitar Center and other music retailers. It is a free publication.

See you at the MIDDLE EAST!

LONG OVERDUE

Hey, what's going on? First things first: We apologize for not updating since the middle of August. This is because we've been really busy, doing tons of cool stuff, so much cool stuff that we won't even be able to cover it all in this one update. Here are a few highlights:

In late August, we hit the road on our first mini-tour. We traveled to New York City to play in two Manhattan clubs, Niagara and The Delancey. We also went out to Clifton, New Jersey to play at a club called Connections. These gigs were one leg of what we called our Nowhere's End of Summer Mini-Tour, which also included a few local dates as well. Because of school starting up again, we haven't been able to make any more trips hundreds of miles to play in strange exotic places, but we have been able to make trips tens of miles to play in equally strange and exotic places. On November 11, we played an awesome show at the Center for the Arts in Natick with The Sterns and Say When. It was our first time playing at this place and with these bands, and it turned out to be one of the best shows we've played. We hope to play more shows with them real soon.

In October, we did our first radio interviews at Endicott and Salem State college radio with DJ Doug Mascott. The main objective of these interviews was to promote our Halloween/Birthday Bash show the following Sunday at Dodge Street in Salem. The show was a success, kids donning all sorts of costumes, ranging from skanking penguins to Martin and Eric, and I think I even saw someone dressed up as Wendy! Good times, good times.

So that about wraps it up for the last three months. Coming up, we're trying out a new idea at Boston Street Cafe in Lynn on December 13. We're calling it TEST-DRIVE. Here's the deal: it's open mic night, and we'll be playing a set of all new material, inviting anybody and everybody to come. It's going to be sort of like a public rehearsal, and should be a ton of fun. And there is no cover charge! We also have a show lined up at Fishtown Artspace in Gloucester with the Jonee Earthquake Band and Backyard Swingset on December 30. Both of these dates should be rockin, so come out to one, the other, or both!

Your dearest friends,
The Tramps

8/13/05

Here's some news for all of our friends who still haven't had a chance to buy our CD: Nowhere's End is now available for downloading at the iTunes Music Store! You can download any of the songs individually, or you can buy the entire EP. If you don't already have iTunes installed on your computer, you can get it here.

And while we're on the topic of new places to buy Tramps music, especially for all our friends on Martha's Vineyard, the EP is now available at Above Gound Records in Edgartown. If you go there, and you can't find it, be sure to tell Mike so that he can locate it for you or reorder it if need be.

We've got a bunch of shows coming up, so plan on coming out to one or more. Dodge Street on the 22nd should be a blast.

We'll see you soon!

FEATURED ARTIST

Beginning this Wednesday, August 10th, The Mystery Tramps will be the Featured Artist on the Boston Phoenix website! Please check it out.

Also, many thanks to all our friends who have been phoning in to WFNX, requesting The Tramps. It turns out that Chris Rucker, the man who hosted New England Product and served as Local Music Director at FNX, has left the station. We all wish him well in his new venture at WBCN, and send along our thanks and appreciation for being the first person to play our music on the radio.

Last, but not least, we have added a show to our summer concert itinerary. It wll be on August 26th at a club called Connections in Clifton, NJ. We hope to see many of our friends in the New York/New Jersey area at that show. Stay tuned for some possible additional shows in New York, TBA.

For those of you closer to home, we hope to see you all for our last show of the summer on the North Shore at Dodge Street on Monday, August 22nd. The last show we did there was a ton of fun, it's a great room to see us, and the air conditioning should be working this time!

Take care. See you around.

THE TRAMPS ON WFNX!!

Last night, "Tonight Show" was played on WFNX!! It was aired on a program called New England Product, which showcases local bands.

To keep the airplay going, we need your support! Please call to request the Tramps. If you get through to make a request, only do it once a day. Any more will seem like you are hassling them. Any day or time would be good, but it would be especially helpful to phone in requests while the show is on the air (Sunday nights from 9-10 PM).

WFNX is broadcast on 101.7 FM in the Greater Boston Area, as well as on 92.1 in New Hampshire and Southern Maine, and it can also be streamed online at www.fnxradio.com. The number to call is (781) 595-WFNX. Let's keep the airplay going for The Mystery Tramps! FNX rules!

Thanks again to everyone for all of your support.

7/25/05

It has been a while since our last update, and there sure is a bunch of fun stuff to talk about.

The first cool thing to happen involving The Tramps was our write-up in the Boston Herald. The article by Sean L. McCarthy was in the Edge section of the paper on June 25. It touched upon our background, our debut EP, Nowhere's End, and promoted our two upcoming in-stores, at Virgin Megastore in Boston and Newbury Comics in Peabody. We were glad to see that we got a good turnout at the Virgin event, many of our supporters coming all the way into Boston from the suburbs, and an even better turnout at Newbury, considering that this location was closer to our hometown of Lynnfield. Both shows were fun for all of us, and we'd like to thank both stores for having us.

Our next show was at the Dodge Street Bar and Grill in Salem. We feel that the success of this show can be entirely credited to all our friends, who made it out in numbers larger than we had expected, especially in the near 100-degree weather. Throughout the show, kids stayed, listened, danced, and had fun in spite of the oppressive heat. We cannot thank you guys enough. We feel that everything other than the heat was awesome though, so we hope to be back at Dodge Street very soon.

Saturday, July 23, we played a set at Fishtown Artspace in Gloucester. The other bands included Whisper A Dare, The Ransom, and Trummel. As shows at the Artspace always are, this one was definitely a lot of fun. All the bands were great, and the audience was awesome too. We're already scheduled to play Artspace again next month.

We've got some great shows lined up for August, hopefully a bunch of you guys can make it out.

We'll see you then.

A note to our friends: we have heard a few instances of people not being able to find our CD in one or more of the retailers listed on our site. If you are in one of these stores, and you don't see the record in the bins, please find a clerk or a manager and ask for it by name. We are not U2 or Fitty Cent, so you won't be tripping over piles of our record. By asking for it by name, you will not only be helping us out by creating awareness among retailers, but you also might actually find it. Even if you don't intend to buy it, please take a moment to look for it if you are shopping in Newbury Comics, or Tower, or Virgin. Drop us a note on the Guestbook and let us know what you found, or didn't find.

Thanks.

There's a lot of stuff going on with The Tramps! Our first CD, "Nowhere's End," was officially released yesterday, and we kicked it off with a celebration at Boston Street Cafe on Monday night. Thanks to everyone who supported us by turning out and staying 'til the bitter end to get their CD's signed.

As mentioned, the CD is now available, and you can find it right here on our website in the newly opened Online Store. You can also buy it at Newbury Comics, Tower Records, Virgin Megastore, and in our hometown of Lynnfield, at the Village Pharmacy. It is also being sold on Amazon.com.

But the celebration doesn't stop here. We've got two great events planned as part of our CD release concert series. The Mystery Tramps are proud to announce two exciting in-store performances! The first one will be in downtown Boston at Virgin Megastore (corner of Newbury Street and Mass Ave.) on Sunday, June 26th at 3 PM. Then on Tuesday evening, June 28th, we'll be heading over to Newbury Comics in Peabody, MA for a 7 PM set.

We are all extremely excited about these two events, and we hope that all of our friends will turn out to have some fun and make some noise for The Mystery Tramps.

Last, but not least, for anyone who missed it, we were featured in Monday's Boston Globe. Big thanks to Jim Sullivan for the kind recognition.

Stay tuned for more news, as it happens.

Thanks again for visiting our website, coming to our shows, and for all your support.

It's official! The Mystery Tramps first CD, nowhere's end, will be released on June 14th! We had an awesome time recording and mixing it at Cybersound in Boston, with our producer, Greg Hawkes. Greg was formerly the keyboardist with The Cars, and he was kind enough to contribute his time, talent and creativity in helping us with this project. He and engineer, Jeremy Page, did an amazing job, and we are very proud to have had the opportunity to work with them. We hope you like the results.

You can now hear some snippets of the songs on the website in streaming audio. Just click on the MEDIA button. We'll mix up the songs from time to time, so keep checking back to hear portiions of the whole EP.

Also, stay tuned for details about our CD release party, which we'll announce very soon.

And thanks again to all those who have been supporting us by coming to our shows, visiting our website, and enjoying our music.

Hey guys, what's happening? Since the last update, The Mystery Tramps have had four great shows. The first of which was April 2 at Fishtown Artspace in Gloucester with Backyard Swingset, Same Old Story, and Famous Last Words. We'd like to thank Same Old Story for inviting us. We'd also like to thank the audience of that night in particular, because even though we had every problem from the PA blowing to guitars going out of tune, it was still a fun show. Without the enthusiastic sold out audience, we don't know what we would have done.

The next show was April 8 at the Lynnfield Middle School dance. We'd like to thank Mr. Ferrante and the Lynnfield PTO for having us, as well as Kook Lawry for helping us out with equipment.

On April 28, we played a three-song set at the Stephen Camello Music Scholarship Foundation fundraiser at Prince Pizza in Saugus. The house was packed, and the sound was great. We'd like to thank Kook Lawry and Brian Maes for having us and supplying us with equipment. On May 1, we played at Club Lido in Revere with Same Old Story, Saving Alcatraz, Letterday, Famous Last Words, and Race the Sun. Although it went late and not many kids could stay for the whole show, it was still a great time. We'd like to thank Famous Last Words for inviting us. This past weekend we completed the final mixes for our upcoming CD. We are shooting for a release date in mid-June, so keep checking the website for further details.

We have some great shows lined up for the rest of May including another Hometown Throwdown, an Artspace show, and a bandfest at Lynnfield High School. We're also working on scheduling some awesome shows for June. Check out all the details in the shows section.

The last couple of weeks have been awesome for The Mystery Tramps. First off, we'd like to thank the Lynnfield Villager and the Lynnfield Weekly for publishing two great articles about our Tsunami Relief/Hometown Throwdown show.

Yesterday, we went into Cybersound studio in Boston to lay down the tracks for our first CD. We worked with producer Greg Hawkes, formerly of The Cars, as well as Cybersound studio technicians Jeremy and Rich. We'll be continuing to work with them on the mixing, but it's coming along great so far. We'd like to throw a couple of thankyous in their direction, as well as to Perry Geyer, owner of Cybersound. We plan to release the CD in May or June.

At tonight's Lynnfield Educational Trust's A Taste of Lynnfield, we donated an hour of live music for a party or event that was auctioned off by Billy Costa of the radio station Kiss 108 and NECN's TV Diner to the highest bidder, benefiting the Lynnfield Educational Trust. The winning bid was $650. We'd like to thank Christine Carpenter and The Lynnfield Educational Trust for the opportunity, Billy Costa for doing a fine job, and of course, the bidders.

At the moment, we have two shows at Fishtown Artspace in Gloucester lined up on April 2 and May 21, a show at Temple Tifereth Israel of Malden on May 7, and we're booking more shows all the time. All the info is in the Shows section.

Since the last update, we played two shows. The first of which was on Friday, February 11 at Fishtown Artspace in Gloucester, where we'd like to thank Shep Abbott for letting us play, along with The PezHeads, Skamasutra, and Mile 21 for playing with us and making it an awesome show. We'd also like to thank all those of our friends from Lynnfield that made the trip up there to see us.

The next show we played was last night, Saturday, February 12 at the Centre Congregational Church of Lynnfield. It was the first show we actually played in our hometown. Most of the proceeds went to UNICEF/Tsunami Relief, as well as some to the church. We'd like to thank Susan Spear and the rest of the people at the church for allowing us to play a show there, as well as The Johnsons for helping us throw it all together. Also, we'd like to thank Kook Lawry for letting us use some of his equipment.

During March we'll be going into the studio to record our first CD. Our next show is April 2 at Artspace. Check in the SHOWS section for details. We're also working on booking shows for the rest of April and May.

We were planning on playing the LMS dance on February 4. We discussed it with Mr. Wilson, and he said that the DJ that he's getting for that date is twice as expensive as normal. Therefore, he wants the DJ to be playing as much as possible. We may play a different dance, or he suggested an idea: After school one day, we could just have everybody hang around and play for forty-five minutes. We haven't settled on anything just yet.

We have a great show lined up for February 11 at Gloucester Artspace. We're playing with some pretty great bands, including The Pezheads, Skamasutra, and The Checklist. We totally recommend that you check that out. It's going to be a really good show. Read all about it in our shows section.

We're starting work on our CD. It looks like we're going to be heading into the studio sometime in late February or March. Until then, if you want to hear us, just go to one of our shows! We're booking some new shows for March and April, so check back regularly to see if we've posted any new ones. We also have a guestbook and a mailing list now, so be sure to check those out.

The last three shows were great. On Tuesday, December 7, we played at Boston Street Cafe to a pretty empty house. The audience consisted of Eric's extended family. It was still fun, we sounded good. We'd like to thank Kook Lawry for letting us play and helping to set up.

On Wednesday, December 22, we played at Gloucester High with Fox Run Road, Rodeo, The Pezheads, The Skexies, Dirty Larry, and The Checklist. We were assigned a 15 minute set to open the show. The reason we got such a bad slot was because we were the youngest band playing that night, and nobody there had even heard us before. We had some equipment issues, but we still sounded pretty good. We were even asked back by The Checklist! We'd like to thank Carlos and the rest of The Checklist for letting us play, as well as Rodeo, The Pezheads, and The Checklist for letting us use some of their equipment.

Last night, Tuesday, December 28, we played a show at Boston Street Cafe with Mouth 2 Mouth and Faithful Until Death. We closed the show, and really got the packed house on their feet. Once again, we'd like to thank Kook Lawry for booking the show and helping set up. Finally, we'd like to thank everyone who has come out to see us, especially those who got caught in traffic heading to Gloucester and didn't arrive in time to see us. We've played three shows in three weeks. Not bad for a new band, eh?

We're now beginning work on a demo so that those of you who are too lazy to go to our shows can hear us. It is going to include originals such as "Tonight Show," "Hot Shot Jock," and "Passed Out on the Floor." We're also booking some more shows for February. Have a Happy New Year, and check back later for more updates.

---BAND HISTORY---

Following in the wake of their former band, Dimitri, Adam and Andrew invited Eric (Syntax Error, Secondhand Heroes) and Martin to join forces.

Adam's sick riffs, Andrew's crazy bass lines, Eric's mad vocals, and Martin's amazing drumming combined to capture the sound they were looking for: raw, relentless rock without compromise. Look to this page for updated news about The Mystery Tramps, and look for them to soon be playing at an event near you. Click here to see a list of upcoming concerts.
